ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte Ltd has awarded WorleyParsons and its joint venture partner a multi-million dollar contract for their new project at the company's Singapore Chemical Plant site. This project will include construction of a new world-scale petrochemical complex centered around a manufacturing facility designed to produce one million tons per year of ethylene and downstream plants for production of ethylene/propylene derivatives.
WorleyParsons and its 50% joint venture partner Foster Wheeler has been working with ExxonMobil on the detailed studies for the project since 2006 and has now been authorized to initiate detailed engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) for new utilities, revamp of certain refinery and chemical plant facilities, expansion of some of the chemical manufacturing facilities, and addition of new tankage and interconnecting piping to support the project. The joint venture will also provide personnel for assignment into ExxonMobil's integrated coordination services team and will provide project management services in support of the overall management, development, and execution of the venture.
