Russian private gas firm Novatek continues talks with banks and downstream firms for its Yamal liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant, Yamal LNG CEO Gleb Luxemburg said Wednesday.

He did not disclose names of banks or companies, saying only that Electricite de France obtained a presentation of the project.

An engineering, procurement and construction agreement for the future complex will be drawn up by September-October and signed by shareholders in late December, Luxemburg said.

The project envisages the development of the South-Tambeyskoye gas condensate field and the construction of an LNG plant. It includes the construction of a sea port and a fleet of tankers.

Novatek holds 51% stake in the company, while Novatek's affiliate Novatek North-West has 29%. French oil and gas company Total owns 20% of Yamal LNG's shares.
