The Mexican government may look at a deal with India's Reliance Industries Ltd. (500325.BY) to develop a greenfield refinery, the Press Trust of India reported Sunday, citing Mexican Energy Secretary Georgina Kessel.

"We will look at RIL's refinery when we visit India. We want to develop a new refinery with a capacity of 300,000 barrels per day," the PTI quoted Kessel as saying.

Reliance could provide services for the proposed refinery, which Mexico's state-owned oil company Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex, will develop, Kessel said, the PTI reported. "However, there would be no joint venture with RIL as the law does not permit that," Kessel said.
