Millennium Pipeline Co LLC said Friday it began a binding open season to gauge shipper interest on its 182-mile, 30-inch natural gas pipeline in the U.S. Northeast.
The binding open season, for shippers seeking firm transportation capacity commencing as of the pipeline's in-service date slated for Dec. 15, will end on Dec 10, Millennium said in a statement.
The line is jointly owned by affiliates of NiSource Inc , National Grid and DTE Energy.
The Millennium pipeline is capable of transporting up to 525,000 dekatherms per day of gas to markets in New York, including service to New York City through pipeline interconnects, as well as to New Jersey and New England.
Western New York gas storage and production can be accessed through Millennium, and Canadian gas can be delivered through interconnections with Empire State Pipeline.
