Project description
The Pacific Connector pipeline and Jordan Cove LNG are two related projects owned and operated by subsidiaries of Williams, PG&E Corporation and Fort Chicago Energy Partners L.P. The companies have agreed to jointly pursue construction of both projects simultaneously.
Pacific Connector Pipeline
The Pacific Connector development is a proposed 230-mile, 36-inch diameter pipeline designed to transport 1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day to markets in the region. The project will interconnect to Williams' Northwest Pipeline near Myrtle Creek, Ore.; Avista Corporations' distribution system near Shady Cove, Ore.; and Pacific Gas and Electric Company's gas transmission system, Tuscarora Gas Transmission's system, and Gas Transmission Northwest's system, all located near Malin, Ore.
The pipeline is designed to transport natural gas from the Jordan Cove LNG import terminal to markets in Oregon and other areas in the Pacific Northwest, northern California, and northern Nevada.
Jordan Cove Energy Project
The Jordan Cove LNG project, located in the International Port of Coos Bay, Ore., will provide competitive sources of clean-burning natural gas. The proposed facility includes a marine berth capable of receiving supplies from specially designed marine vessels, two full-containment 160,000-cubic-meter LNG tanks for storage, and regassification with a send-out capacity of 1 billion cubic feet of gas. The project will also have an integrated electric power plant, and a natural gas liquids extraction facility to recover propane and butane.
Both projects will provide more than 2,800 jobs to locals during the course of construction, with a total of 120 permanent jobs available during operations. Pending the completion of project applications, review, and construction, the terminal and pipeline and slated to begin operations in 2011.
