Pegaz LNG terminal will be located in Le Verdon, Bordeaux, France on the site of a former oil storage facility. The terminal will include three, 154,000-cubic meter tanks. The net nominal capacity of the terminal will be 9 billion cubic meters per annum (bcma), with an opportunity to expand to 15 bcma.
According to 4Gas, the LNG terminal--located at the Port of Bordeaux at the mouth of the Gironde River--will interconnect with gas transport infrastructure to access local markets and the French inland. In addition, it will offer producing countries access to the French, Italian, and Spanish markets. Pegaz S.A. expects to begin construction of the Pegaz LNG terminal in the first half of 2010 and hopes to bring the facility online in 2013.
Pegaz S.A. is a fully owned French subsidiary of 4Gas B.V.
