Clatsop County Hearings Officer Peter Livingston has granted conditional approval to the consolidated land-use application from Oregon Pipeline LLC for a natural gas pipeline serving its proposed Skipanon Peninsula liquefied natural gas terminal.

The application seeks approval to build 41 miles of 36-inch diameter pipeline through Clatsop County. Livingston conducted a public hearing on the application in May and June and accepted further material from the applicant and opponents through July.

The decision can be appealed to the Clatsop County Transportation and Development Services Land Use Planning Office. The deadline to file an appeal is 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2010.

The entire hearings officer ruling, which includes 235 findings, as well as more information on appeals can be viewed on the Clatsop County website, www.co.clatsop.or.us, under "Hot Topics."
