Queensland Premier Anna Bligh says the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry in Gladstone keeps looking stronger and stronger.
Ms Bligh has already welcomed the announcements of joint ventures between Santos and Malaysia's Petronas, as well as Arrow and Shell.
But Ms Bligh has told Parliament there are other projects on the drawing board as well.
"Sunshine Gas and Sojitz Corporation of Japan and LNG Impel are looking at processing plants and ... British Gas and Queensland Gas Company, who in partnership are seeking to develop a project in the vicinity of $7-8 billion has sought a significant project declaration for their proposal," she said.
