Todd Monette, Motiva Enterprise's Port Arthur refinery general manager, is moving on to a corporate assignment with Shell's Downstream Global Manufacturing Group.
Motiva expansion project venture manager Forrest Lauher will succeed Monette as general manager at the refinery.
The changes are effective April 1.
Monette has served as refinery manager since 2006. At Shell, which is part owner of Motiva along with Saudi Refining Inc., Monette will help the Shell Deer Park refinery achieve cost reductions.
During his tenure, Monette and Motiva employees achieved VPP Star status from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which is recognition of a team approach to refinery safety.
Lauher began his Motiva career at the Port Arthur refinery in 2004 as technology manager and has served as venture manager for the $7 billion expansion project since June 2005.
The project is continuing even though Motiva management last week announced it would be complete in 2012, at least a year later than originally scheduled.
Motiva's leadership had conducted a project cost review and decided on the later timetable.
