Millennium Pipeline Co., LLC on Tuesday announced the appointment of two senior executives. Gary A. Kruse is Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary and John J. Turner is the new Vice President, Finance and Controller.
"We are pleased to add these accomplished executives to our management team as we move toward completing construction of the pipeline," said Millennium President Dick Leehr. "Their extensive experience and commitment will serve us well as we transition into commercial operations at year end," he added.
Kruse will be responsible for overseeing all legal, regulatory compliance, records management and partnership activities. He joins Millennium after serving as Assistant General Counsel at NiSource Inc. where he provided legal representation in the areas of SEC compliance, corporate formation and joint ventures as well as issuance of public debt and equity. Prior to joining NiSource, Kruse was a partner in the law firm, Schiff Hardin & Waite.
Turner will be responsible for the overall financial, regulatory and human resource activities of the Company. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), he established a financial consulting firm in 2001 providing services related to strategic planning, valuation modeling and financial and cash flow projections. Prior to operating his own firm, Turner was Vice President, Finance at United Water Resources, a water services company with regulated utility operations. His prior experience also includes public accounting where among his many assignments, he was responsible for financial audits of gas and electric utilities.
The Millennium Pipeline is anchored by its customers KeySpan Energy, Consolidated Edison of New York, Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corporation and Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation. Millennium will serve markets along its route in the Southern Tier and lower Hudson Valley as well as providing essential service to the New York City markets through its pipeline interconnections. Millennium will transport up to 525,400 Dth/day when it goes in service in November, 2008. Millennium is jointly owned by affiliates of NiSource Inc., National Grid and DTE Energy.
