The Maple LNG terminal is located in Goldboro, Nova Scotia, Canada and is fully owned 4Gas.
The facility is situated adjacent to the Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline at the Sable Offshore Energy Gas Plant in Goldboro. The Maple LNG project will include three LNG storage tanks with a 160,000 cubic meter capacity and a send-out capacity of 9 bcma along with six regasification facilities. The terminal will also be able to receive LNG carriers of up to 250,000 cubic meters. Once on stream, the facility will have the ability to transmit 1 Bcf/d per day and eventually increase its capacity to 2 Bcf/d.
The Maple LNG pipeline will transport gas from Nova Scotia to markets in Canada and the northeastern United States.
The Maple LNG project secured its final environmental permit in March 2008 and its permit to construct three months later. Production is scheduled to begin in 2012.
