Olefins are a group of petrochemicals that contain at least one carbon-to-carbon double bond. Olefins are unsaturated chemical compounds, the simplest of all the olefins is ethylene (C2H4). Olefins are also known as alkenes or olefines. Olefins are key in the production of plastics such as polypropylene and polyethylene.
