Project description

Polish Oil & Gas Co. (PGNiG) is developing a liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification terminal in the city of Swinoujscie on the far northwestern coast of Poland. PGNiG's Polskie LNG sp.z o.o. (PLNG) facility will help Poland to diversify its sources of natural gas and rely less on imports from Russia.

In January 2008, PGNiG chose SNC Lavalin Ltd. to prepare the terminal design. SNC has subsequently chosen Foster Wheeler Iberia S.A.U. for a portion of the front-end engineering design (FEED). PGNiG will also select the general project contractor for the construction of the LNG receiving terminal.

According to PGNiG, the scheduled completion date of the project is late-2012.

two LNG storage tanks (each 160,000 cubic meters)

initially 5.0 bcm per annum with potential expansion to 7 bcm
