Owned by Cheniere Energy, Corpus Christi LNG Terminal will be located on 612 acres on the northern coast of the Corpus Christi Bay, along the La Quinta Ship Channel. The terminal will be located 14 miles from the open water with two berths large enough to accommodate the Qmax class vessel.

Corpus Christi LNG will construct and operate an LNG terminal to import, store and vaporize approximately 2.6 billion cubic feet of LNG per day. The terminal is expected to have a turning basin and two protected berths, three 160,000-m3 LNG tanks capable of storing 10.1 Bcf with a maximum continuous gas rate of 2.6 Bcf/d, and vaporization and send-out facilities. Corpus Christi LNG plans to have three dedicated tugs stationed at the terminal to receive and unload up to 300 LNG vessels per year.

In addition, Cheniere Pipeline Company will construct and operate a 23-mile, 48-inch diameter pipeline that extends from the proposed terminal that will connect with various pipelines. These include Texas Eastern Transmission, Gulf South Pipeline, Channel Pipeline, Florida Gas Transmission, Kinder Morgan Texas Pipeline, Transcontinental Gas Pipeline, Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America and Tennessee Gas Pipeline0.

As of early August 2010, FERC reported that the project had been approved but was not under construction.
