Perth-based company Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Limited will begin preliminary work on the site of its proposed plant at Fishermans Landing at Gladstone, in central Queensland, on Monday.
The managing director and chief executive, Maurice Brand, says the environmental impact study for the project is underway and it will be looking at foundation requirements next week.
Mr Brand says other aspects of the project are also progressing.
"Arrow, who are the gas suppliers, are undertaking their upgrade of their gas reserves in the Moranbah region in central Queensland. They're also advancing work for the construction for their pipeline to bring additional gas into Gladstone," he said.
