French utility GDF Suez ruled out reports for a possible acquisition of a minority stake in the Nord Stream gas pipeline, currently being built by German power group E.ON (FRA:EOAN) and Russia's gas major Gazprom.

E.ON is reportedly considering to dispose of part of its stake in the project, Russian Financial Control Monitor said Tuesday.

GDF's chief executive Gerard Mestrallet said that company was negotiating with Gazprom to secure long-term gas supply contracts.
