Underground Storage Tanks (UST)
id: 105
Underground storage tanks (UST) are large tanks used to store liquids. In order to be classified as a UST, the tank must have at least 10% of its combined volume underground. Due to corrosion and leaking problems, very few new USTs are installed today. Those that are in use typically have double or even triple walls to prevent leaks to the soil, which can contaminate our drinking water.
