Poland's oil and gas corporation PGNiG Thursday denied plans to connect Poland with the Russian-German Nord Stream gas pipeline. PGNiG said in a statement that it would rather integrate the Polish gas system with the European network as this would give Poland access to new gas sources and enable gas sales to other EU countries.

The company announced that the connection with the European system would be through a currently built two-way gas pipeline from Police to Boernicke in Germany.

The connection (with the European gas system - PAP) will secure additional gas sources, thus raising our energy security, it will also enable PGNiG to sell gas to other European countries, the company wrote.

The company assured that all its undertakings and investments were in line with Poland's national energy plan until 2030.
