PetroChina Co. has completed the construction of five supporting projects for the west-to-east gas transmission pipeline and it will soon apply for the state's inspection and acceptance of the west-to-east gas pipeline project.

The five supporting projects include three link lines that link up the west-to-east gas pipeline with the second Shaanxi-Beijing gas pipeline and two other trans-regional gas pipelines. It thus will diversify the gas supply in northern, eastern, central and northwestern areas of China and lay an important foundation to the networking of China's natural gas pipelines.

PetroChina's second West-to-East gas pipeline, starting from the Amur River in Turkmenistan to Horgus in northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and extending to South China's Guangdong province, is scheduled for completion in 2010.
