Position Description:
The Hawiyah NGL Plant (HNGL) is a new grassroots facility designed to process Haradh and Hawiyah Gas Plants mixed sales gas streams to extract recoverable NGLs for use in Yanbu' and Jubail. The HNGL contains gas treating, mercury removal and heat recovery systems for energy efficiency. It is uniquely designed to act as a straddle facility that can bypass the rich sales gas in the event of a problem in the master gas system.
Selected candidate will be expected to:
- Act as mentor to young Saudi Engineers.
- Have thorough understanding of C2+ NGL recovery, including molecular sieve gas dehydration, mercury removal, propane refrigeration and demethanizer column distillation.
- A good understanding of turbo-expanders, combustion gas turbines (CGTs) and NGL/Water heat exchanger systems would be a plus, although not required.
- Conduct engineering analysis and develop cost-effective solutions of complex process problems related to NGL Recovery plants.
- Act as a technical consultant pertaining to process related issues and discuss, coordinate and resolve problems with organizations within and outside of Saudi Aramco when necessary.
- Oversee performance capacity tests of plant process equipment.
- Write high quality letters, memos, technical reports concerning process related and design packages to enable implementation of engineering recommendations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Must have 8 years of experience in the gas dehydration industry, preferably as a gas plant process engineer such that he is clearly recognized as an expert in his field.
- A thorough knowledge of English is required to perform analyses and studies in-depth, make professional presentations and keep up with technical advancements.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, U.S. and Saudi Aramco Codes, Standards and Specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare approval of the problem solving report plans, schedules and provides coordination and work direction as required for the preparation of designs, processes, reports, correspondence and related data and assures the efficiency, adequacy and conformance to overall objectives of project.
- Formulates the basis for an engineering study or project or design in any basic or special engineering field by analyzing and evaluating all data pertinent to assignment.
- Evaluates data as to scope, effect on existing installation, economic value, long range planning and budgetary considerations.
- Leads and recommends new continuous improvement solutions for installations or modifications to improve existing facilities and standardization within specific fields of endeavor.
- Estimates costs, prepares justifications and completes expenditure requests as required.
- Support project execution and project proposals and initiates detailed work outline and makes decision as to basis processes, and/or equipment.
- Performs work and or delegates work to other engineers and final development of specialized or technical proposals and studies of proposed projects.
- Discusses, coordinates and resolves problems with personnel throughout Saudi Aramco and subsidiaries and with outside organizations, Acts as technical consultant when required.
- Reviews work of engineers directed.
- Checks that reports are written according to established methods of good report presentation.
- Makes recommendations for future study or reports changes.
- Approves reports for transmittal so supervisor. Review work of third party, technology reports and engineering standards.
- Lead the implementation and operation of all kinds of recommendation solutions.
